Heat pumps are a big part of the future of home heating but it is a difficult sector to break into due to the onerous demands of the MCS certification scheme that make it very difficult for regular installers without a back office staff to break into. There is a solution though.
If you join the GHR Energy MCS umbrella scheme you can sell heat pumps direct to your customers and we will do the paperwork for you as well as design, specify and supply the heat pump, hot water tank and controls. All you have to do is show up and install it. You can charge the customer your normal work and materials rates - we don't want to dictate your prices to you like some other networks.
We can operate in either a hands on or hands off approach depending how much support you require.

The lowest tier of 'hands off' support where the installer completes most of the functions on an MCS installer working to the MCS heat Pump Installation standard. We just handle the paperwork related to the installation
- You survey the installation
- You produce an MCS compliant heat loss calculation using an approved software.
- You provide the system schematic & hydraulic design
- You complete the DNO notification
- You advise the client on planning consent
- You commission the installation.
- You provide ongoing maintenance to the system
- You provide installation materials (pipe & fittings) & radiators.
- We supply heat pump, cylinder, controls, contract documents, hand over pack & BUS grant application

Our second tier of support provides more support for the installer.
- You survey the property and provide us with a floor plan, existing emitter schedule and construction material list.
- we complete a detailed heat loss
- We provide all other MCS functions such as DNO notifications & planning advice
- We supply the heat pump, cylinder, controls, contract documents and hand over pack.
- We commission the installation for you
- We provide ongoing maintenance to the heat pump, cylinder & controls

All users of the GHR MCS Umbrella must hold valid public liability insurance, an in date G3 unvented ticket as well as their BPEC or LCL qualification in heat pump installation & Maintenance. Tier 1 users must either hold a BPEC or LCL qualification in low temperature heating design or have completed the Heating Academy or Heat Geek Mastery. All installers will need to have their first installation commissioned by GHR Energy.
